Biography:
This biography is current as of September 2008.
Lisbeth Shepherd received her bachelor’s degree from Yale University in 1993, and her MPA from Princeton University in 1999. Her idea to launch a national civilian service corps in France was funded by Echoing Green shortly thereafter, and she launched Unis-Cite in February of 1994. Lisbeth remained at the helm of Unis-Cite until 2003. She is now the coordinator of the Green Jobs and Service Collaborative, which supports the propagation of green-collar jobs, access to them for those who need them most (including the poor, the formerly incarcerated, and displaced workers), and the expansion of environmental service opportunities for all.
