Can Chris Myers Asch Make Government Service Cool?
Last week, the New York Times ran an amazing story on 2007 Echoing Green Fellow Chris Myers Asch, founder of the Public Service Academy. It seems that not only the mainstream media, but the Washington establishment are beginning to follow Chris’s lead: as of this writing, the legislation to create the Public Service Academy has 23 Senate sponsors and 123 House sponsors.

Wage Justice Center’s Work Made Even More Important by Economic Downtown
The Los Angeles Times recently highlighted the important work of 2007 Echoing Green Fellows Melvin Yee and Matthew Sirolly, founders of the Wage Justice Center. The Center—based in Los Angeles, California—fights to turn court victories for workers into real money. Even when workers won legal claims with the state for unpaid wages, some unscrupulous employers find creative ways to avoid payment.

Documentary About Hot Bread Kitchen Wins Every Woman's Filmmaker Competition—Watch It While Hungry
An extraordinary filmmaker named Negin Farsad won the Every Woman's Filmmaker Competition for her film “Hot Bread Kitchen”. The film demonstrates the passion and verve that Jessamyn Waldman, a 2008 Echoing Green Fellow, brings to her social enterprise. It’s a delightful and inspiring nugget.
The film now stands a chance to be named a Lifetime Movie Network fan favorite.
